July 21, 2023 - Last bottle of a 3 pack bought 10ish years ago. This was the best of the lot, and probably at its apogee. Mushroom and truffle on the nose, married to a lovely, sinous vinousity. Meunier at its finest. Bubbles still fine. Lovely. I shed a tear writing this note - bought this for SGD60... a far cry from recent bottlings..

July 21, 2023 - Late night "casual" at Maison Dakota. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, gold colour. Legs. Fading bubbles.
Nose medium+ intensity, slight hint of oxidative caramel, mushrooms, minerals, gentle citrus lemon and orange. Developed.
On the palate, dry, lovely high acidity, medium- alcohol (12.5%), medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of mushroom, wet stony minerality, citrus lemon and orange, savoury umaminess. Long finish.
Very good quality. Time to drink up. Lovely mushroom nose and delicious savoury umami palate.

April 23, 2022 - Last bottle of Les Beguines from the 2008 vintage

Relatively low on pressure when uncorking. Small tight bubbles

👅This is rich with citrus, nuts, and bread. This has some smokiness and it is oxidative. There is nice acidity that remains noticeable through the finish. Finishes with a bitter quinine note and extra brut dryness

This is persistent and drinking well but I preferred this when
it was fresher, crisper, and had some florality
    Nice wine 🥂

January 26, 2020 - (Mostly) Burgundy Dinner with Friends (Republique - Los Angeles CA): All Meunière. Rich and nicely concentrated, but I find the low dosage detracts from my overall enjoyment here. Also slightly more bready and oxidative than I find ideal, but the weight and power make up for these minor shortfalls.

April 7, 2019 - Darker in colour than the Piper Rare 02 and the 2012 Cedric Bouchard, this was nonetheless fresh and not advanced on the palate. A very balanced champagne with very low (or no) dosage, the fruit and the acid melded very nicely. Bravo!
