October 9, 2018 - Oh, BIG Papa. So big! Just what one wants from a 100% Cab, taken from esteemed vineyards, some of which producing from the oldest vines in the state! Cassis, and all the other black, red, and blue fruits. Cocoa, charcoal, it's all in there. Safe to hold for at least 2-3 more years at this level.

July 1, 2016 - Decanted one hour. Appealing nose followed by a delicious and somewhat forward and rich palate but extremely well balanced. Outstanding.

March 30, 2015 - Bit of a fruit bomb .... Very fruit forward, but decent structure without being over the top. Nose and palate both full of black cherry, cassis, tobacco, earth. Nice, fine tannins. Sweet on the finish.

4/4/2012 (link) ***** points(Efeste Big Papa Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley) This wine will stop you in your tracks. Dark as night, the aromatics are arresting with floral notes, tarragon, black currant, licorice, and abundant mineral notes. A mouthful of a wine that lowers the boom with incredible purity, rich but still restrained fruit flavors and chalky tannins. A Cabernet Sauvignon prototype, this is a big (big) wine that could not be more appropriately named. Give it plenty of time to open up to see its best. Sampled at 60 degrees. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. 34% Klipsun, 29% Sagemoor, 20% Bacchus, and 17% Kiona vineyards.
