December 6, 2016 - Romanée-Conti v. La Tâche: A touch herbaceous but comes alive with a good swirl. Expressive secondary red cherry with sauvage, underbrush, and Vosne spice. Textured and flavourful on the palate with relatively high acid and tannin. Came back after an hour+ and the tannins here were bigger than most everything else in this line up.

November 13, 2010 - Drank from Methuselah, initially harsh and took 7 hrs to open up, very deep floral nose with tar, charcoal, mushrooms, still dark red in color with very slight bricking on the rim, very fresh, medium plus body and medium finish. Will this transcend the whole burgundy experience? Perhaps not but a much appreciated experience. It smells a bit better than it tastes...

October 19, 2003 - This was probably the worst moment in my wine drinking experience...The incredible anticipation to opening and drinking this legend, only to find yourself with a tannic, acidic third class burgundy with no depth or body....At least the 1999 DRC Montrachet which we drank beforehand was sublime.
