On the nose: earth, dried mushroom, and a bit of spice lift, not much fruit
Palate: acid but tannic, not resolved. Very earthy
Color: semi translucent ruby, light brown tinge
Opening up to smoky cherry on palate and a few hours later, still needs time but the mushroom scent has faded. After 2 hours got more perfumed, just a touch of raspberry and spiced cranberry with herbs. Nice perfume now but a bit of heat is coming through.
Overall very enjoyable but still needs more time to really shine I suspect. -

July 10, 2023 - Pretty and delicious. Soft grape tannins and strawberry / raspberry fruit throughout the palate with a long clean finish. At this point still one of best buys in the Beaune. There is no rush as this will be solid for several more years.

December 28, 2022 - Popped-and-poured. Meaty, dense, and so powerful, even if still slightly backward. Long, lingering finish. First time tasting since barrel. Like many 2009s, this needs more time to really strut its stuff.
