Community Tasting Notes 6

February 9, 2014 - Massive berries...rich, black fruits. Plus complexity - some wet earth and grilled meats. Full mouth and light tannins with a moderate length finish. Tried a bottle two years ago - it was straight forward new world Syrah. Now it has nuance. Glad I have one more bottle so I can see where this wine goes in another year or two. This has become like a big Crozes-Hermitage or due to floral notes on the nose, a mini Cote Rotie.

June 24, 2013 - Picked up at the winery in June of 2012. Smokey dark fruit with a creamy, silky, very long finish. Strong tannin and deep flavor on the first day (3/4 of the bottle) but the remainder a few days later was mediocre at best. It retained its structure but lost all fruit and flavor. Durability would have given it an extra point or two. Overall delicious.

June 16, 2012 - Very impressive. Brown sugar on the nose, black fruit, strong structure.

February 18, 2012 - This wine was recently released; picked up some at the winery in 2/2012 to cellar for a few years. Intense color, blackberry and a little bit smokey flavor.
