Community Tasting Notes 2

March 14, 2012 - What a classic expression of topped-up Savagnin for such a new winemaker! There are some green apple flavors at first and a honeyed richness, which are vaguely reminiscent of Chenin, but they are simultaneously contrasted with saline, slightly oxidative notes and nuts that never allow you to doubt that this is Savagnin from the Jura. The finish on this is also remarkably persistent, something I was not expecting. A bargain if you are a fan of the region.
