February 3, 2018 - I am usually a fan of Spottswoode Sauvignon Blanc but I found this bottle/vintage a little less to my liking. It is bright light yellow in color. It is certainly well made but it is very much more grapefruit dominant than some other vintages in my memory. The nose is almost overpowered by the grapefruit. The palate is also high on the grapefruit along with some minerals and a touch of pineapple on the fairly long finish. High acidity will ensure a long life which may broaden out the flavors. Unfortunately this was my only bottle so I won't get to see if I am right. Some may think it should have been drunk earlier in its life...I'm not sure??

November 1, 2016 - Wine has matured nicely, citrus, minerals, medium weight , acidity has toned down now. Classy wine which went very well with roasted Alaskan King salmon.

February 27, 2016 - This is still my favorite SB. A little pricey but worth it. It has solid fruit and acid, but has a very mineral quality which I think comes from the concrete fermentation.
