Community Tasting Notes 5

June 30, 2013 - A little barnyard on the nose, as well as some white tea; on the palate this is medium to full bodied, dry, understated, and leaning towards being aromatic; just a tiny amount of sourness on the finish of green pluots, as well as slight residual sugar. Fresh, and indeed with underlying flashes of brilliance. Best at room temperature. I'd say give this another year. 88-89+

August 2, 2012 - Outstanding floral nose, light initial connection on the tongue, but does turn a bit spicy toward the end. Sour apples. I probably rushed drinking this after bottle shock.

July 11, 2012 - Fairly good, even if it didn't quite reach the transcendent highs of last year's version. Apparently simple at first glance, but subtle, with underlying flashes of brilliance. Good QPR.

June 19, 2012 - Looks and drinks more like a white, and I could easily imagine what this would be like as a sparkling blanc de noirs. Just enough acid to be refreshing. White peachy pear nose with just a hint of underlying strawberry. This paired well with veggie potstickers and I could imagine it pairing excellently with all sorts of summer veggie dishes. The sort of wine that's so easy drinking that it seems simple but there's just enough underlying interest.
