September 10, 2018 - Very nice once it had time to open. More towards a typical Burgundy than most Californian Pinot Noirs, with more minerality and less fruit. Unsure if I'd pay the price tag for it, though good Pinot always seems to cost a fair bit, and in that context I certainly wouldn't call it overpriced.

July 25, 2015 - This is more creamy Cote d'Or than jammy California. Has lovely purity and lifted sweet currants on the finish. A very consistent, linear palate which give the impression of great structural integrity. This is effortlessly charming whilst having a rock-solid, high pedigree feel. I'm fascinated to see where this will be in a decade.

April 9, 2014 - Theatre of Wine Pinot Noir Tasting (Theatre of Wine, Tufnell Park): There’s a slightly caustic aroma - VA maybe? - alongside the strawberry fruit. Palate is very ripe with much purer fruit than the nose suggests. Slightly syrupy finish though. And, again, slight alcohol burn.

  • Too much practice. Likes this wine: 87 points

December 21, 2013 - Needed an hour to settle down and integrate, for tannins to soften. But very good. Nothing thin about this, it's a proper wine, with the depth and juiciness of a bigger wine. Quite capable of handling bigger foods. It's not the smoothest, it has a slight rustic feel to it. Slightly fatty nose. That delicious back sweetness. After 90 minutes, this is irresistible.
