April 9, 2023 - Very elegant, light but with personality. Very impressed and was perfect with the lamb.

December 29, 2021 - Ex-chateau. Much better after an hour of decanting. Elegant floral notes. Marshmallows. I love this!

July 22, 2021 - First bottle of Petrus, so pls excuse whatever drivel follows. Distinctive nose of spice and blueberry. Refreshing yet serious. Medium body, lighter than I expected. Texture uniquely silky, albeit perhaps not AS utterly unique as I had built it up...probably the fault of this Petrus' novice building it up in my mind (this was my first-ever bottle of Petrus, drank with the wife.) Popped and poured some to be safe first, then decanted the rest when it became apparent wine at least wasn't getting worse in glass. Good decision: wine in glass and decanted evolved, texture seemed to get silkier, dark flowers, cherry and chocolate emerge. But never out of balance.

Never overbearing. Others have described weightlessness and I agree on the description. Texture very distinct vs. what I'm familiar with in Bordeaux (extensive left bank, less right bank). Robust and complete palate but without being "dense" or intense. Structure bang-on, so much that you don't even notice it, just effortlessly holding up the wine on your balance, acid, tannins and fruit in harmony. I would describe this wine as masculine beauty.

Wine evolved - but never declined - for 60-90 minutes and as we slowly enjoyed. Not sure where this is at its drinking window, but I'm comfortable saying this is nowhere near "done" and has plenty of years of drinking ahead. Whether it will improve further or not is best left for others with good fortune ($ or otherwise!) to drink Petrus more often than once every blue moon.....aka those with more experience drinking it than me here.

May 27, 2020 - Another good showing for this wine. So much lift, grace and sweetness that's completely free of the unwanted flavors. No lead, no nuttiness. Majestic.
