Community Tasting Notes 5

December 14, 2013 - Typically sceptical of unoaked Chardonnay, I really warmed up to this one. It took a sip or two, as it's redeeming flavor characteristics take a moment to settle in on the palate. It is surprisingly light, crisp and tasty. The fruit has a very welcome, soft approachable feeling, starting with melon and peach, getting tighter with white apple and some citrus and finally some honey. Super nice job with the partial malo lactic balancing acidity. Very complete and linear from lips to finish.

July 22, 2013 - (13.5%) 97% Chardonnay, 2% Pinot Blanc, 1% Muscat Canelli – Nice, clean, crisp entry on a soft mineral frame showing white fruits with bright acidity and notes of citrus blossoms. Nothing special but pleasant and easy drinking which makes for a nice QPR. At $7 (vs. $17 from the winery) I’m inclined to buy more…
Wine Geek Notes: Unoaked/stainless, 80% undergoes malolactic fermentation

    Purchased: Trader Joe’s for $7
Bought Because: Seemed like a fair price to try an unoaked Chard
Wine Geek Notes: Made by ASV

April 5, 2013 - Crisp, zingy, and fresh. Hints of shale, melon rind, and cucumber on the nose and palate. Surprisingly good, unoaked Chardonnay is not half bad!

February 17, 2013 - A really nice medium bodied Chardonnay. Nice and easy drinking.

August 30, 2012 - Golden pear, orange blossom, mineral, green apple, dusty on the nose. On the palate, tart, crisp acidity with the fruits, and a little bit of circus peanuts. Finishing with lemon, green apple and more of the circus peanuts :)
