  February 4, 2024 - Lovely large form factor may have safe this wine from a poor year with lots of conflicting weather and low yield.
  
  This comes off nicely for me. 2 hours of decant in the bottle and the smoothness, balance and rigidity of the tannins are all there. Beautiful on the nose and it just glide down your oesophagus like silk.

  January 19, 2024 - Not much bouquet after opening but slowly developed after an hour. Medium bodied with smooth tannins. Ripe cherries, berries, some tobacco. Medium long finish. Paired with steak and cheese.

  July 15, 2023 - Pichon Lalande’s second wine, the 2011 Reserve de la Comtesse offered us lots of red cherry and brightness. This is both medium-bodied as well as elegant, with a rather tight nose.
  
  This was despite 1.5 hours of flask decanting followed by gentle bottle breathing. Short-med finish.
  
  With this being a challenging Bordeaux vintage(April drought, July cold and fear of rot, followed by a massive storm), it meant an early harvest and very low yields - I felt this ultimately translated to some thinness in today's bottle.
  
  In this challenging vintage of low yields and very strict selection, Pichon Lalande basically had as much Reserve Comtesse as their Grand Vin.
  
  The blend is not particularly clear for me, I read some conflicting data but most describe a Merlot heavy blend of..
  49% Merlot, 43% Cab, Petit Verdot 8%.
  
  Tannins, soft to medium
  Acidity, medium
  Mouthfeel, slightly light and lacking complexity
  Finish, medium evolving to medium-short.
  
  My birthday weekend (perhaps week!) Celebrations begin.. Date night at Stoked in Medan Damansara over a Rib-eye steak which was perfectly executed and a good Pork Ribs too. Overly generous by the restaurant at half a kilo!

  July 12, 2023 - Lovely nose and palate with hint of greenness but certainly not disturbing. Medium palate with elegance. Very enjoyable. 90-91
