August 10, 2023 - The 1955 Branaire still has a big, fruity nose, starting off red and moving toward the darker end of the spectrum with time in the decanter. The palate is better, with a blueberry compote presence but also some quirky aspects like sawn wood a korma-like spiciness.

June 8, 2021 - Popped and poured at restaurant Asa. Lovely mature nose, showing cigars, black currant and a truffle element. Sweet palate, tannins resolved and in the background, short finish but nevertheless a really fun 66 year old wine. Plenty of life and vigor.

April 27, 2021 - Another solid bottle of 55 Branaire with smoke, leather, cigarbox, truffle and sweet red currant. Fresh and energetic palate with attractive sweetness. Very good.

September 28, 2020 - Beautiful bottle with perfume, tobacco, earth, graphite and smoke. Very fresh on palate which resembles the nose. The fruit is clean and precise with lovely sweetness. Not too shy compared to the 55 Haut Brion on the side. 93-94
