February 11, 2024 - Super Bowl LVIII 2024 (Alpharetta, GA): Tasted double blind: Sexy red cherry fruit. Fresh acidity. Vein of minerality lingers on the finish. Great nose and very long finish. I thought it was older than it actually was calling it 1999 or 2001. I called it from Clos Saint Jacques.

January 28, 2024 - A wonderful wine, first day, open the bottle and waited one hour, wine in the glas, nice pinot with some edges, waited another two hours, no change.
second day, still half bottle left, now pinot near perfection, nice fruit, light acid, wonderful.

December 15, 2023 - Run for your cellar and open this- what an incredibly delicious and somewhat sui generis Grand Cru! The nose is full of wonderful, almost- counterpoints of raspberries, violet, moist soil, and a tiny bit of bramble(see LB88 below). On the palate, the oh-so elegant Chambertin depth carries both a multiplicity of dark cherry, scented wood, rich liqeuo-like concentration, all with that element of Gevrey sauvage that both makes it less elegant than a Charmes or Griottes but also so fascinating while still regal in its own right.

November 21, 2023 - Pronounced nose intensity with cranberry, strawberry, spices, toast, flora, mushroom. Medium acidity and medium tannin. Tannin is silky.

September 23, 2022 - Mazoyeres gets an unfair rap in some circles because it lacks an elegant Charmes or Lateicierew profile. Simply put, this is delicious, sophisticated, deep and does not need to pretend to be a great Vosne or Romanee. Very much Gevrey in its soul, though far more regal in its delivery, this wine screams stewed dark cherry, dark wet oak, sous bois, leafy overtones, and a mellifluous, fairly hefty corps that coats the tongue. Not as complex or elegant as their Charmes but very satisfying in so many key regards. Decant very briefly—ready to go. Their 2011s generally are wonderful and ready to drink.93/94
