October 18, 2020 - Med garnet with an orange hue. Intense aromas of ripe red fruit, herbs, earth and a hint of oak from two years of aging in oak barriques and casks. Dry, but with surprising amounts of sweet red cherry. Med (+) acidity and medium, polished, resolved tannins. The alcohol is high (14%) but seems lower. Full-bodied yet elegant, with med (+) flavor intensity and length. Smooth as silk and drinking beautifully, probably at its peak. A remarkably good showing, after 12 years, for an entry-level Barolo.

September 6, 2020 - We chilled to 55' and aerated before decanting for ~1 hour. Deep colored, balanced richness of cherry and raspberry fruit with chocolate, oak, and light earthiness. The flavor came through more with time, and balanced the high tannins and acid.

May 17, 2020 - The wine is fully integrated. It has a burgundy color around the rim indicating its age. It still has plenty of fruit - dark cherry in particular. The tannins are medium high, fine in nature, and smooth. There is some life left in this but it is drinking well now.

October 29, 2018 - I poured the glass but left it alone for 3 hours. That time allowed it to mellow. The nose is medium and there is dark cherry on the nose. The palate is balanced with strong fruit and tannins present. This can go a while longer but is drinking very nice now.
