July 14, 2021 - Super mineral nose, blackberry, succulent acidity. Still has substantial structure, very nice.

November 23, 2020 - A Thank-You Cellar Raid to Help Nudge 2020 Out of Here (Los Olivos, CA): Just a so-so showing tonight. Whereas I recently raved about another bottle of this (purchased at the same time), this one lacked concentration and had a bit of a metallic taste. not flawed, I think, just didn't show all that well.

June 8, 2020 - Some Priorat Giants, Plus a Bonus Wine to Boot (A Pristine Outdoor Setting Somewhere in Los Olivos): Perhaps the most complex of the five vintages we tried. Aromas of smoke and fresh flowers jousted with the berry scents. A rich and layered mouthfeel, showing plenty of dark fruit notes, some espresso and iron, but a bit less concentrated than the other bottles on this night.
So much nuance and an elusive aspect I really appreciated.

December 2, 2019 - Excellent. An incredible wine aged to perfection. Drink.

  • The Vines That Bind wrote: flawed

May 25, 2018 - Completely oxidized. In terms of over extraction, overripeness, alcohol, and port-like advancement, this is the worst offender of the program. Palate is similarly unpleasant.
