April 9, 2024 - Even more beautiful compared to the bottle I drunk in 2021. Incredible rich with apricot, orange, some oxidative tones. Minimal mousse. What an experience it was!

November 26, 2022 - Piemonte: Back to the truffling!; 11/24/2022-12/3/2022 (Wineries and various restaurants): Old champagne can be very divisive in how people experience - you can love it, you can think it’s interesting, you can despise it with a vengeance. I happen to be in the first category so I don’t really mind if the wine is a ‘still wine from France’. It was a bit musty at the beginning but that blew off and then you get this old caramelized slightly sweet wine that is very interesting and when paired with cheese and bread was just kindof awesome. So no, there are no more bubbles left and yet I think there are people who will absolutely hate this wine but for me it was fun and delicious and a nice way to start a really charming afternoon with some new friends.

May 15, 2021 - Hedonism and Refinement at 60!; 5/14/2021-5/15/2021 (Joe and Kyla's Bar and Grill): Can't score this VERY educational bottle. Cork crumbled. No bubbles. Maderized nose. First pour: light-medium gold color, surprisingly fresh green apple, lemon, burnt custard, caramel, and old rose hips. Second pour = light tea; third looked like the scary water coming out of the faucet in Dante's Peak! If the rest of these '61's are this interesting, we would've been happy. Instead, we were ecstatic!

May 15, 2021 - Lyon 2021 Birthday Bash; 5/14/2021-5/15/2021 (Bear Creek Woodward/Lyon Den): There is no way to compare this to anything else. Mark's birth year champagne, TONS of sediment, madiera notes, but still a little citrus and apple, definitely some creme brulee. First pour a deep gold, turning to tea/cola with sediment. An education to say the least. Very drinkable, just unrecognizable as champagne. Paired with caviar.

January 30, 2021 - Deep golden-orange color. No Mousse. An intense complex wine, apricot, nuts, giving a "dry" impression at the end, with a long finish. Kicking and alive this 60 year old wine, like my beautiful wife saskia from 1961.
