April 28, 2013 - The third of three bottles, and it was the best of the three. Just an incredible Saint-Joseph at its absolute peak.

December 8, 2012 - The 2nd of 3 bottles -- this bottle was just a bit more advanced than the other, which is to say, it is still youthful and muscular and just making its way to its second life. Smoky, olive-briny, and rich; with air it lengthens out, showing more rich fruit and a delightful ashiness. Drinks more like Cornas than Saint-Joseph, and that's just fine with me.

November 20, 2012 - Seasonal dinner (Seasonal, NYC): Still rather youthful with a core of rich, brawny dark fruited flavours, but starting to also show some developing smoky, meaty and leathery elements. With time it becomes increasingly fragrant and open, and like the Clape it's a wonderful pairing with the veal cheeks.

September 29, 2012 - This bottle is at a perfect peak. Tannins fully integrated, smooth black fruits, classic Rhone nose. Outstanding.
