Community Tasting Notes 10

September 9, 2021 - Purchased on release and cellared carefully. Bright cherry nose. There are some simple red fruits on the palate, fading. Fine tannins, good acidity and balance. Finishes short and sharp. Not bad but tired and well past its prime.

March 25, 2021 - Pulled from a cool cellar where it's sat since release. The color gave me hope, but it was primarily acid and tannin. Nothing to be ashamed of....it simply died a slow, appropriate death by age 21. Opened two bottles that were both consistent. Hoping the 2003 might show some life

May 28, 2016 - 4th Saturday group "uptown" tasting (Sue's): Nonblind with lamb chops, this continues to show well and is at peak IMO. Aromas of tapenade, black fruit and plum with a nice wild, feral quality. Flavors of black fruit and olives, well-integrated with a long finish.

June 9, 2013 - Sunday Brown Bag Tasting: Paloma Syrah Vertical (Our house): Dark color with notes of leather, licorice, dark fruit, pepper and beef bouillon. bright acidity with firm tannin and flavors of dark fruit, leather and cherries with a long finish.

    My #4, Domino #1
    Group #1, 33 pts

April 8, 2012 - According to some sites, the time to drink this wine was several years ago. it is still going strong. Lots of red cherry, blackberry and cola with a little mineral and a touch of bacon and white pepper. The alcohol can be detected on the finish, but it is not hot. If this wine has faded, it must have truly walloped you in it's youth.
