Big Juicy Red Likes this wine:
May 11, 2019 - Nose of citrus and a hint of cut grass. Bone dry, high acid, lots of citrus notes—lemon, lemon curd, and green underripe citrus. Very delicious—drinks like a dry Riesling. I love it, especially for the price (~$20).

October 15, 2017 - Once more delicious, and sadly no more bottles left. Arguably the most complete bottle to date, this one has generous peach and passion fruit flavours, an exuberant acidity and a gorgeous finish. I didn’t buy this for trad Gewürztraminer flavours but because it is truly delicious and a go to Wine if we wanted something interesting and really tasty.

January 13, 2017 - Another glorious delicious bottle. Again so difficult to pick which grape this is without knowing. However all the clues are there, but muted. Fine wine-making and a very individual style. Actually went very well with a sweet potato shepherd's pie, so robust enough to enjoy with strong flavours.

July 8, 2016 - Astonishingly drinkable and interesting Gewurz. Gives away very little on the nose and doesn't have the telltale rose petals on the palate, so what is going on? Apples, so no malo? I can't imagine it having any wood, but I don't really care as the result is gently perfumed, beautifully textured and wonderfully balanced. Reading the other reviews I join in the general sadness if this now not being made.

February 13, 2015 - I had a stunning experience a few nights ago with some chinese takeout and a bottle of this. While this is one of my favorite Gewurtzes from Anderson Valley, I probably wouldn't ordinarily rate it this high, but it just sang to me with some dry-braised crispy pork. One of the best wine & food experiences I've had in awhile.
So sad to see that with the Cliff Lede takeover, they don't seem to be making a Gewurtz anymore...they're still buying the Pinot from Ferrington; what are they doing with the Gewurtz?
Or maybe the right question to ask is: who makes the *next* best Gewurtz from AV?1 person found this helpful Comment
