Not too much experience with uber-mature Champagne, but here goes. Deep golden hues & still brilliant in color. Reductive and cooped up on the nose. After that blew off, the wine really stated to blossom. Very little to minimal mousse on the pour, and then none in the glass. Only a slight effervescence on the palate. Nose: candied pear, subtle honey, orange liqueur, dried jasmine, green tea, dried nectarine. Palate confirms the nose. Vibrant acidity and lift. Medium body +, finishing dry and long length. A special Champagne now turned mostly back into white wine. Disgorged Nov. 1988.

  December 15, 2020 - This is another classic. so easy to drink with fully integrate bubble. very enjoyable but strangely not one specific character stood out.

  May 25, 2019 - From magnum. Over dinner, no formal notes. Slightly maderised on nose and palate, a little like dry sherry. Hardly any bubbles, very fine and gentle. Great acidity, very good fruit. Elegant and long finish. Improved over time in the glass. Drink up.
