January 1, 2021 - Quite tannic at opening, needed an hour in decanter to become approachable. Great nose of developed Brunello, tea leaves, tobacco, a hint of cherry liquor, similar in the mouth plus a nice grip and acidity. In a good spot for drinking, maybe a touch high in alcohol - 14.5% and you take a bit of punch from it, but otherwise very good, went far too quickly with the NY eve dinner.

December 29, 2018 - Decanted for 2 hours. Brick red color with an dense middle and an orange rim. On the nose there were mild primary scents of strawberry jam but the secondary notes of leather and tobacco were way more dominant. The palate was very much the same. The leather notes were very enjoyable. This wine has undergone very interesting evolution since my last tasting four years ago. It was well liked by all.

December 5, 2018 - This is drinking so well -- really in a perfect place. Dark mulled strawberries, sour cherry, black tea and menthol. Great structure and concentration. Tannins and acid are pronounced, but everything is well balanced. Wish I had more!

April 6, 2018 - @ Enoteca di Piazza Montalcino: Nicely developed, brownish in color, it needs like an hour in decanter to open. Reveals matured aromas of tea leaves, tobacco other tertiary aromas, phenomenal on the nose. The body is friendly and elegant with a medium weight and friendly tannins that still have some grip. This one is reasonable priced and will easily outplay a lot of todays Brunellos.
