January 24, 2024 - Delicious right from opening. Dark fruit and secondary flavors. Drink or hold.

June 30, 2022 - Deep ruby. Earth wet leaves and blue fruit on the nose. Medium acidity medium tannin, medium alcohol. Pronounced blueberries, strawberries and hay. Long finish. Very good now but will benefit from a decant and will benefit from more time.

January 18, 2021 - Decanted and drank over 2 hours, then poured back into the bottle and tried the next day. 2nd day was best where the fruit started to peak out. This still has plenty of life. Needs long decant or more time.

May 26, 2020 - I'm liking this bottle a bit more than the prior one. This one was deeper in my cellar for seven years. Interesting contrast. Nose is shy with spice and sweet incense notes. Palate starts with black fruit, toffee, black tea and nutmeg. With a few hours of air, the wine opens up to a velvety texture with a sweet chocolate milkshake aspect that reminds me of those extreme Aussie shirazes from my youth. Also nutmeg, fenugreek, and sweetened milky americano coffee. Surprisingly not hot despite so many warm-climate indicators. Tannins are firm even though hidden behind the hedonistic sweetness. Acidity is the only soft note. Finish is subtle but persistent.
