  March 2, 2024 - Winey Weekend With the Woodwards in Woodinville!!; 2/29/2024-3/2/2024 (Where else?): Decanted an hour +, this was a close 2nd for my WOTW. Sure the nose is amazing, but what stands out is the mouthfeel. Can a silkworm make or wear cashmere? Deep black and blue fruit, but your palate is unharmed! Loam, graphite, and dust caress the deep dark fruit finish. Now-2035.

  August 21, 2021 - Beautifully fresh and lively bouquet. Very floral with a hint of eucalyptus. Dark red burgundy through to the edges. Quite deep and dark. Dark fruit throughout with blackberry, blueberry, and cassis. Finish has some iron, minerals, and cocoa. Tannins are elegant showing a soft, smooth, and very long finish. Fantastic.

  September 11, 2019 - Intense nose of black and blue fruit. On the palate blackberry, plum and black cherry. Notes of chocolate and some minerals. Powerful fruit, but still balanced, with integrated tannins and a small bite at the finish.

  August 23, 2016 - Big, bold & rich! This wine is aging beautifully. Tannins are softening nicely. I think I'll keep the other bottle in the cellar for another 2 to 3 years. Another great wine from Mike Smith!

  June 5, 2015 - Everything a full-throttle Napa Cabernet should be: rich, layered, and intriguing, with an intensity and finish that cannot be confused with a wine from anywhere else. Crimson in color; nose of chocolate, strawberry, and cedar; heavy in body. Intense tastes of blackberry, plum, black cherry, leather, and graphite. 14.7% alcohol. Powerful, to be sure, but beautiful as well. Drinking wonderfully now, though clearly has some life ahead of it.
