Community Tasting Notes 9

January 1, 2022 - On first taste, this wine seemed a touch flatter than the Loring Carg 2011, but as the wines opened and the meal continued, this became the tables favorite wine. Not as dark as the Loring Carg (of course), but with pretty ruby notes. The nose immediately showed ripe cherry flavors. Not long after, it developed cola, lavender and earth notes. The tannins are well integrated; the mouthfeel is round with a satisfying richness. The balance of the wine is impeccable. No sediment. 14.1% alc. With house smoked salmon. 01.01.22. Recommended, leaning to Highly Recommended.

July 11, 2016 - very nice, well integrated, bright, still acid left, lingers on your tongue and mouth. Good spot

March 2, 2014 - A wine in need of time. All the ingredients are there. Light in color, with good pinot structure, a bit rough at this time. I have more laid away and won't open another one for about three years. I think the wine will improve to a Burgundian balance, along with the score.

December 29, 2013 - A distinct impression of hot climate PN. Big fruit, nice effect on nose and mid-length

January 20, 2013 - Sunny January day = tasting around off North Valley (Willamette Valley): Too much 2009ness on this one, with quite a bit larger fruits, yet more oak, and an overall soft profile on the nose. The palate offers mellow fruit, is large in scale but mild overall. Big and tart finish, with plenty of acid at the end, causing lots of puckering. This is a strange package, with the large scale of fruit on the nose and palate and then the lean puckering acid at the end. Doesn't feel in balanced for me and isn't a seamless experience.
