August 14, 2020 - Decanted only for minor sediment and warming as was ready to go very shortly after opening. Drank this bottle from a Napa trip eight years ago, and the aging has softened the wine considerably, with a bit less fruit, but still enough acidity (med-) and resolved tannins to provide nice balance. Lovely blackberry and currant fruit that has medium plus body with a juicy mouthfeel displaying nice purity and focus. Not real complex or layered, just bright and flavorful, with the traits of a mature wine. This should hold for awhile, but will start to lose its freshness over time.

May 19, 2020 - Popped and poured. Aromas of blackberry, huckleberry and gamey meat. Blackberry, black plum, huckleberry, gamey meat, black tea, vanilla and spice on the palate. Finishes with good length. Full bodied. Served with pork marsala.

January 7, 2019 - from half bottle. fantastic stuff. not hot and extracted. Very balanced and almost Cornas in style but of course more weight. Drinking perfectly know but remember this is from a 375.

September 3, 2018 - Popped and poured. Nose of blackberry, blueberry, smoked meat, licorice, underbrush and spice. Black and blue fruit, smoked meat, spice and ripe chewy tannins on the palate. Leads to a medium to long finish. Full bodied. Served with smoked brisket.

April 29, 2018 - took 24 hour decant to calm down, settled into blackberry and coffee notes - lush and smooth.
