    Fabre Montmayou Grand Vin 2008.

Blend de Malbec (85), Cabernet Sauvignon (10) y Merlot (5).

Crianza de 16 meses en barricas de roble francés.

Ufff, que pedazo de vino! 💣 Color vino, aroma a vino y gusto a vino. Todo lo que tiene que tener un vino está en esta botella 😍

Evolución impecable, redondo, equilibrado y elegante. 🎩 Me encantó! 👏👏👏

April 29, 2018 - This is an impressive wine at ten years of age. A hedonistic blend of 85% Malbec, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, with some Old World finesse. Deep ruby with purple hues and just a hint of garnet on the rim. The legs are thick, with lots of glass-staining extract. The nose is clean, with ripe black cherry, purple flowers, black currants, tobacco and intense French oak-induced aromas of vanilla, cigar box and mocha. The palate is dry, but still showing plenty of generous fruit. The palate is consistent with the nose but also shows hints of licorice and dark chocolate on the finish. The acidity and tannins are medium. The alcohol is high (14.5%) but appears to be more moderate. This is a full-bodied red, with a medium (+) long finish. It paired very well with grilled sirloin and smoked sausage. It also had an affinity for sharp cheeses and, surprisingly, dark chocolate squares. This is one of many under-the-radar, great values from Mendoza. It is drinking very well now, but can show well through 2020. My only negative mark is that there's a little too much new French oak at this point. It shows its best after a couple hours of air and should therefore be decanted for maximum enjoyment.
