Community Tasting Notes 14

  • DrakkarNoir Likes this wine:

February 25, 2015 - 13.5% abv. Dark ruby/clear. Subtle, earthy nose with cedar, eucalyptus, and spice. Nose reminds me of a young bdx. Medium bodied with mellower tannins and acidity. Slightly sour finish. Quite long. Drinking nicely now. Don't think this is one to cellar.

April 14, 2014 - Nice red berry fruit, more austere than the '09s, crisp acidity and lots of minerality.

October 13, 2013 - Quick note, a concentrated nose of candied red fruit and a hint of vanilla. The palate opened up after an hour, bright red cherry, black cherry, stewed tomato and a cocoa nib finish. Balanced, but not a lot to hang your hat on...

October 2, 2013 - Deep purple with a thin red edge. Nose is full of big dark berries. Flavor is all big slightly sweet black and red berries with a nice brightness and hint of dryness in the finish

August 10, 2013 - Plum, a bit of tar, smoky notes and slightly peppery.
