October 22, 2017 - See prior note - now more dusty minerals towards the finish. Tannins ever- so - mild. While a little more mature in flavor, based on this bottle, would now advise to drink soon as the structure is thinning out.

August 19, 2016 - The nose progresses from sweet plum to predominantly black cherry and tobacco, with cigar box and a hint of peppermint. Lots of sweet fruit and tobacco in a medium weight body ending in a slightly thin, delicate finish. Enough (mild) tannins persist to keep my other bottle for at least 5 years.

September 23, 2015 - One of our favorite Merlots. Soft black fruit of plums and blackberries makes the entry very smooth. The smoked meat, cedar, loam and light white pepper components provides for enjoyable complexity. While the finish has light tannins, the flavors lingered on. Paired quite well with our brats and Anita's delicious homemade baked beans. No reason not to drink these now, but has several more fine drinking years ahead.

September 14, 2014 - Rock solid Merlot! Very nice bouquet, plumy, with modest oak treatment, good balance and grip.

September 14, 2014 - Always love the Miner Stagecoach Merlot. A nice level of complexity, red berry fruit, smoked meat, split wood. Lovely smooth finish with enough tannins to let this puppy drink well for several more years.
