August 10, 2022 - WWC Hosting (FWC): 2nd time tasting this wine. I had relatively low expectations, based on the wines around it. But it showed really nicely, and with the air time, the mocha/chocolate notes that I love in merlot were prevalent on the nose, with fresh cherry, mixed with slight leather in the palate. I really enjoyed these bottles.

June 9, 2022 - Bought at the winery, drank with clients in Tijuana.
This is very much "on" right now. It's probably at peak. If you like "Rutherford Dust", this has a ton of it!
Perfectly ripe red cherry, raspberry, leather, cooked mushroom, dirt, sawdust, coca powder and dried green herbs. Medium + body, good acid, mellow tannins that are almost resolved.
Overall, this has a nice tension between primary and tertiary flavors. Drink now, won't benefit from further aging.1 person found this helpful Comment -

January 31, 2021 - Aged fairly well, but not great. Color and clarity still beautiful but taste was a bit flat. Not overly interesting and certainly not a standout. Probably would have been far better 3 to 5 years ago. My recommendation would be to drink it soon or it may be a throwaway.

January 27, 2021 - Tried from a coravin, but the cork came unsealed during the second pour. So I opened it. I didn’t know what to expect. Color is still quite purple, and nose is full of red fruit. Not much chocolate as with some other younger merlots on the nose. Flavors of muted raspberry, and maybe some sour cherry, all mixed with some forest floor, and maybe light mushroom. Lots of good tertiary flavors. Overall it is showing pretty well, and has held up nicely.

July 14, 2018 - Soft, well rounded, balanced, very persistent on the finish. More elegant and refined than Bordeaux of the same price. A lovely drink. Perhaps a blend would give it more character.
