  April 11, 2014 - Decanted ~1 1/2 hours, consumed over 2 hours. Intense, somewhat porty merlot, with rich stewed red fruits, ample (bordering on harsh) acidity, and a little heat on the long finish. Huge merlot, dense, spicy, overpowering. Somehow I want to say that this is both better than and not as good as the note may make it sound.

  (I should really just stop opening Tolo wines when I don't have a decanter handy and/or multiple hours to wait - the end of the bottle is pretty much always the best, regardless of how long it's been open.)
