April 19, 2023 - Good but not great. Fruit is still there but is fading. Quite dry now. Classic rose petals and tar. Medium finish, complex. Drink up.

October 15, 2022 - Annual Pilgrimage to Piedmont - 2022 Edition; 10/14/2022-10/16/2022 (Piedmont, Italy): From a beautiful magnum straight from the immaculate wine cellar of La Ciau del Tornavento.
Was served blind and indeed wend for late 90s , earthy and soft, mild and elegant wine and akin to an 85 Bordeaux less of a loud wine and more of an elegant ballerina. Unfortunately we felt this was also coming to the end of its years at the top of its quality and we would suggest one drinks these sooner than later. 95

    April 15, 2021 - 6 of 6....opened at 3:00 served at 7:30 and paired with 1997 Gaja Sperss

Consistent with bottle last fall .... drinking very well. Much lighter and red fruited than the very youthful, brooding Sperss

November 5, 2020 - #5 of 6. Decanted at 4:00 dinner at 7:00. Still deeply colored, red fruits with hints of tar on the nose, rich luscious texture, beautiful dark red fruit, still very youthful, long finish. I agree with Verb this is drinking very well and was delicious with pasta and white truffles.

May 27, 2020 - medium red, orange rim - beautiful nose of dark fruit, violets (or equivalent flowers) and just a little bit of tar - rich full mouth of dark red fruit, with soft tannins and good acidity - medium length 15-20 sec finish - a fully mature Barolo from a non-classical vintage that is drinking superbly right now - well worth waiting 20+ years for
