Community Tasting Notes 7

December 29, 2020 - Red cherry, kola, leather, musk, black olive, iodine. Crunchy, tart red fruit. Quite lean upon opening but manages to gain weight after an hour. Tart, racy finish with good persistence. Quite a testament to its longevity, but likely more enjoyable several years ago.

October 17, 2020 - Uncorked 1 hour prior to serving into Burgundy red wine glass (“No” day): Pale ruby with bricking rims, no visible deposits.

Hard not to describe this as top notch Burgundy nose with pristine red berry and cherry fruits, florals, some meaty and sous bois notes.

On palate this is still quite tight in a good way upfront and opened up nicely during the course of dinner. Clean and persistent finish. Served blind and cannot believe this was a Passetoutgrains... let alone 1999...

    93-94 points. Very impressive wine!

July 24, 2020 - Fairly restrained nose but fully resolved palate. Nice red fruit, some earth and spice. Thinish, simple and good to drink. 91-92

March 17, 2020 - 1 cm in pristine condition and appears to be domain released. Wine opened for 15 minutes and consumed in 2+hrs. Fresh, bright and clean, with earthy red berry fruit aromas that merge into sweet and relatively elegant structure. Tasty especially at the end. If in good condition, it's likely last another 2-3 yrs or more. It's a fun Bourgogne to try.

February 1, 2020 - Some Jayer brewed fruit aromatics, intricate nose, while palate is light and not very concentrated. Well above its appellation but past its prime. 93
