April 15, 2016 - Surprising fresh and fruity. Well balance. Went over well at recent South African wine tasting

December 20, 2012 - They did a very nice job of subduing most of those gamey tastes I remember from Pinotage from the past. This one is fresh and lively with the mouth feel of a slightly heavy Pinot Noir. There is some rustic, earthy influence from the Cinsault side of things, that ably enhances. It feels like there is almost a slight spritz as it crosses the palate. I really like the spicy rhubarb meets mulberry fruit flavor. There is some really fresh black cherry. With a little more depth and concentration, this wine could get some big numbers. Not much oak influence. Maybe medium bodied. This wine makes it's mark with fruit which is a very refreshing change of pace. The finish is rhubarb sauce my mother used to make.
