July 27, 2023 - Loved the way this is drinking. Thick and rich and savory and nutty and woody. Faint hints of mushroom. Thick syrupy mouthfeel. Still fresh and drinking great though I wouldn’t let it go too much longer.

May 9, 2023 - Rhone Candidate dinner - Hermitage Theme (Essential by Christophe): Interesting to compare this to the ‘96 De L’Oree and also the ‘83. This was somewhere in the middle. Lighter and a bit less intense than the De L’Oree. More acid still here. Still that honey but without quite as many of the burnt character. Darker in color than the ‘83 which was surprising. Drinking pretty well. Probably in the spot at the moment although wonder if some more years just changes it entirely. Seems like these wines never really age in steady progression or even a unidirectional progression.

November 25, 2022 - This looks a bit like the emperor's new clothes...
This wine is clearly well past its peak and comes across tired with limited interest at this point.
It showed better a few years ago when I last tried it, but was disappointing today. Yes, the texture was rich but the aromatic complexity and length were absent. It cannot be considered a great wine at this point.

September 6, 2022 - Commanderie des Costes du Rhone - Fall 2022 Kick-off (Claud): Probably the white WOTN I think. It was beeswax and oxidation and honey and almost a sour note and yet all of that combined to be this very interesting wine that had me coming back to it.
