Community Tasting Notes 5

October 12, 2016 - Dark red. Ink, forest fruit and herbs on the nose. Juicy, fresh, high acidity. Straight-forward, but enjoyable.

January 29, 2016 - Blackcurrant and ink on the nose. Pure style, textbook Blaufränkisch. Good value.

July 22, 2013 - Glass stopper. Deep and fragrant nose displaying violet, black cherry, tobacco and pine. Medium bodied on the palate, with black fruit, soft and gentle. Shortish finish with that pine coming back. Could've done with a bit more acid and bite. Not sure about the oak treatment here but the pine aspect bothers me. Is it Austrian oak? Gives it a character of woody eau-de-cologne for men. Apart from that, a decent wine, softly gluggable.

May 8, 2013 - Dark berries, clear blackcurrant. Refreshing and acidic attack phase - lasting taste of redcurrant and cherries on the mid palate. Good concentration and drying tannins. Tight finish with plenty of minerals, Long.

Not an easy drinker; needs food.

March 28, 2013 - purple red, not too dark
Nose: spicy, cloves, red fruits, very elegant
Taste: elegant, long finish, fresh, not much tannins
Overall: very good Blaufraenkisch wine from Austria
