Community Tasting Notes 5

January 11, 2019 - The 2009 Quatrain is full bodied, yet soft and approachable with fine tannins and a round, fruit forward palate. Merlot and Syrah blend seamlessly and are from the finest parcels along the Black Sage and Osoyoos benches. Notes of plum, dark cherry, blueberries and pepper fill the glass, along with subtle hints of licorice, clove, tobacco and vanilla. This well-structured wine displays fine tannins and bright acidity to frame its exotic spice and ripe fruit notes

March 2, 2016 - Well made, balanced, good fruit, medium to full bodied - went perfectly with tenderloin steak and arugula. Drink up , I doubt there's much more positive change to happen to this bottle.

May 12, 2015 - Excellent. Really lovely best of four worlds wine. Amazing pairing with our steak dinner. Decanted for an hour. Recommend at least that or longer

March 4, 2014 - Deep deep ruby red with garnet reflections, heavy viscosity.

Attractive (but slightly alcoholic) nose, with ripe black berry, ripe black cherry and cloves.

A bone dry wine with hard tannins and marked acidity. Full-bodied in the mouth with an extended length and good balance; good fruit concentration too.
A rich yet elegant wine if served with the right food - serve with a well-marbled steak to integrate tannins.

January 24, 2013 - Blend of 35% Merlot, 30% Syrah, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Cabernet Franc. Very nice aromas of dark fruits, blackberries, blackcurrants and (French) oak. Full bodied with good structure. It's very smooth with blackcurrant, dark cherry, ripe dark fruits on the palate. Refined tannins are well-integrated. Well-balanced with a long finish and hints of sweet fruit. Very approachable right now, but could be cellared another 1-2 years. Gorgeous!
