Community Tasting Notes 6

January 14, 2024 - Deep yellow. Expressive nose of ripe orchard fruits. Broad on the palate - textured, chewy and full bodied, reflecting the vintage. Apple / peach / even apricot ? Full of flavor. Complex ripe fruits build leading to the distinctive and markedly spicy finish that the red slate provides. Holding up well but clearly has an amplitude on the palate that one may not normally associate with the Mosel. High quality here but likely not for everyone. Worked well with Thai food. I would drink this fairly soon.

July 23, 2018 - Zurich Supper Club Rides Again...in London (CVA, Andrew, Paolo...missing Benoit...) (67 Pall Mall - London, UK): First wine of the evening, CVA brought this one, introduced the group the wine at the last dinner. Had been open a bit prior to my arrival, nicely chilled.

Medium straw/gold color. Nose was crisp and lean, green apple, minerals, white flowers. Palate showing orchard fruits, apricot, citrus lemon. Crisp and dry through the mid palate, showing nice secondary notes. Medium weight and finish.

Great aperitif, refreshing lead in to a big evening of red wines. Impressive wine with a number of years ahead of it.

February 19, 2018 - Fresh floral notes and nice tropical fruit. Apricots, citrus (hints of lemon zest), white peppers, and minerality on the palate. Long. Post-bbq beef palate cleanser that turned out really well.

December 9, 2017 - Deep yellow. Not much on the nose. Glycerine and full. Lots of soil and dried peach. Dry, long, and earthy. Good.

September 23, 2012 - Elegant and friendly bouquet with tart green apples and minerals. On the palate apple, green herbs, a touch of sweetness and a little bitterness in the finish. Good concentration.
