  September 8, 2016 - Dark ruby red in color. Nice balance of red fruit and spices on the nose. Very non Chianti like on the palate it's smooth and balanced. It's not nearly as acidic as I would expect and the tannins are smooth. Very easy to drink with a nice finish. One of the smoothest Chianti's have ever had. Very nice.

  August 1, 2016 - Of the 8 wines we drank that night, this was one of the top two favorites. Very good fruit and balance.

  November 2, 2014 - Nase nach Zimt, beerig. Angenehme Frische duch Säure. Tannine subtil im Hintergrund. Sehr harmonischer Gesamteindruck.

  March 14, 2013 - Chianti Classico tasting- the black rooster crows at the dawn of a new age (Allerton Hotel, Chicago IL): Nose: There is some oak right away along with tones of dark red fruits, cigarette ash, dark red cherries, and some herbs.
  
  Taste: Medium/full bodied with medium acidity and some noticeable wood tannins. The feel is slightly larger and the oak is a bit noticeable along with dark red fruits, wood spices, cigarette ash, and dark red cherries.
  
  Overall: The wood is slightly on the heavier handed side, but it isn't too much. If this can come together a bit more it should improve.

  March 14, 2013 - Light red in color. Gorgeous fruit (cherries) exceptionally well balanced with light oak. Good acid and structure. Complex. A beautiful wine.
