November 21, 2014 - Tasted in single-blind fashion at a Central Coast Pinot tasting (from a bottle kindly provided by D.B.), this deep ruby wine is packed with ripe black cherry fruit, accented by aromas and flavors of anise, tree bark and cocoa. Full-bodied, round and fairly heavily-extracted, it frames its flavors with nicely integrated alcohol (13.9%) and medium-weight, sweet tannins. Solid in the middle and closing with medium length, this is a well-made, aggressively-priced wine which should be at its best over the next 3-4 years. Drink now-2018.

January 7, 2013 - Starts slightly bitter but opens up nicely on the second and thirst night. Cola and mushroom funk, some sweetness but still juicy overall. Interesting.

October 17, 2012 - Slightly over-extracted. Rich, ripe strawberry and spice. Mild tannins. Medium bodied.
