October 24, 2013 - A very different kind of CdP. Evidence of youth with rose like red. Body is thin to medium. After a few hours of bottle breathing, a very nice perfume of flowerly emerges. The taste is gentle with little bit of spice and sweetness at the end. Finishing is ok. A very feminine CdP which I never experienced before. I think it needs 2+ years to peak, however I think this wine is not designed to cellar like Beaucastel's. Probably 2 to 3 more points in 2 years time.

October 1, 2012 - Was able to get a sneak peak at this fresh vintage while visiting Bordeaux. All I can say is wow! Beautiful head start for this CnP. On the eyes its all purple- obviously. Still the consistency of the wine throughout the glass was impressive and I anticipate this to be wonderful syrupy vintage. The nose was the highlight of this wine thus far. Roasted coconut, sweet berries, dark tobacco, and black pepper all came together like a symphony. On the palate the wine with sweet and spicy in a way that only Chateuneuf's can accomplish. The finish was relatively long for this young of a vintage and well balanced. I came back wanting more. Hold this for at least 3-4 years. If you cant, enjoy!
