Community Tasting Notes 5

September 12, 2013 - Think very light, and delicate Burgundian style Pinot Noir, with tiny dash of Italian sunshine. This wine has a beautiful, clear raspberry color, earthy aromas, refreshing acid, and soft tannins. The low alcohol ..12..adds to its remarkable versatility . I had her with Cornish game hen and she was perfect. But she would go with a wide range of foods.

June 28, 2013 - Looks like raspberry kool-aide and smells like cow manure. Decanted and chilled in the fridge for about an hour and the funk blew off. Nose of bright, ripe cherry, sour apples, and barnyard funk. Palate hits with cherry, raspberry, and green notes. In fact, there is a tangy, puckery, sour edge that flanks the acidity throughout to finish. Very distinctive. Paired with grilled balsamic/garlic chicken, mixed veggies, corn on the Cobb, and honey/maple baked beans.

April 22, 2013 - This is a light bodied red with a light ruby or almost blush color. Delightful to drink with a slight chill. It does have a little of that "stinky feet" on the nose, but it was not that pronounced for me. Zesty acidity combined with a nice fruity exuberance makes it a nice guzzler. It would be a good picnic wine.

October 20, 2012 - I really liked this wine. Really light ruby color and complex fruit and earth aromas. On the palate it feels light-bodied and has good crunchy fruit, cherries, raspberries. Good earthiness too. Fantastic match with caramelized spicy pork shoulder. Very Good.

October 1, 2012 - Very light colored wine, light garnet/ruby. Amazingly expressive nose. Stinky as hell with mushroom/feet smell stink overtop of red fruits. The stink was so overwhelming, it made tasting the wine difficult. I love stinky burgs, but I couldnt deal with the smell on this wine and It did not seem to blow off. Seemed really promising. Unfortunately, the taste was overly candied fruit, but did have some earth, tart acidity, and a nice finish. I really had to mark it down alot due to the smell and candied fruit.

This was much, much better the 2nd day. Open this a day ahead.

This was only my 2nd rossese wine, so hopefully others I find will be slightly better.
