  June 26, 2013 - Burgundy WIMPS 'Col d'Aubisque' table (La Trompette, London): Quite 1990 on the nose. A browny slightly muddy garnet colour. Quite pruny and leathery. Sweet fruited, quite round on the attack. All front and no middle/finish. Just too diffuse and a little over-ripe, not lasting the course. I don't see any upside here if this is representative. ***

  March 8, 2007 - Dinner w/ Brad & Chris (Restaurant Alma & Brad's House, Minneapolis): Dark black/ruby. A big, Graves-like nose of smoky black fruit. The palate is bold and brawny and youthful, showing concentrated black fruit, licorice, and a hint of mushroom/forest floor. Lots of structure but not much finesse. A very nice wine that I would have a hard time identifying blind as a Burg.
