Community Tasting Notes 7

December 9, 2013 - Flavor is interesting and quite complex. Mostly red berries, with raspberries leading. Less dense than most Rhone wines, and feels relatively easy-to-drink, does not feel too dry, but no much sweetness either. Surprisingly, feels better on the second day; at the beginning it feels a little rough. In taste I feel cranberries, some tannins (not excessive), it is pleasantly acidic.

November 27, 2013 - Dark, ruby hue. No inconsistencies. The wine drank rather smoothly but it was not very complex. Would be a good everyday sipper and there are no complaints but I probably would not buy again.

September 21, 2013 - This is a really decent $7 wine. It took a fair amount of swirling, but it really came around. The color is like a dark Pinot, you can see your 2 fingers. has an Old World nose with more non fruit than fruit aromas with tar, tire rubber and graphite in front of the mostly red fruit. Some of that tree sap to vanilla flavor with the fruit on the palate. Only medium bodied. Sharp cranberry and strawberry with minerals on the finish.

August 12, 2013 - Unsophisticated, but a quite fine weekday dinner drinker. Excellent QPR. Nice, nice fruit.

March 21, 2013 - The Valreas didn't exist here on CT and I thought it was good enough to take the time to create it. After 45 minutes the Valreas really turned out to be a pleasant surprise turning on the spice and charm. The palate gained some weight and the finish showed white pepper and perfumed red fruit. $6 at TJ's.
