September 10, 2020 - Definitely think these wines are better with about 10 years age. The funk was a lot less pronounced. Decanted for a couple of hours. Really savory and delicious.

May 12, 2018 - Opened for Mother's Day.
Opened up a bit light on the palate, but quickly gained structure.
Roasted meat, earth, subtle fruit, smooth tannins.
Elegant. Low alcohol (13.8%).
My first Reynvaan Sarah, so I can't compare it to other vintages. Quite enjoyable, and a change of pace from our regular fruit-forward selections.

March 3, 2018 - Co-fermented with 6% Grenache Blanc. Typical Reynvaan syrah...Northern Rhone style, full-bodied and very flavorful, very pronounced aroma of smoke, leather, mushrooms, anise, oak, all perfectly balanced with acid and background tannin. Very drinkable now. I can't imagine it can get much better with age than it already is.

November 3, 2016 - Dark garnet, totally opaque. It took about 30 minutes for the nose to open, but it bloomed into a wonderful meaty, plum, black cherry and oak complexity, became quite pronounced. Viscous, with thick, slow "legs". Flavors are deep and rich, with plenty of roasted meat, black fruits, and oak. Long viscous aftertaste, alcohol very noticeable, more than some of their other wines. Very drinkable now, but it may soften with another couple of years. Drink or hold.

12/5/2013 (link) ***** points(Reynvaan Family Vineyards The Unnamed Estate Syrah Walla Walla Valley) Somewhat stylistically distinct from previous vintages with fascinating savory aromas, olive, and floral notes. The palate is full of umami flavors with enough tannins to lay down well in the cellar and a long, lingering finish. Syrah co-fermented with Grenache Blanc. 13.8% alcohol.
