March 28, 2015 - What an absolutely perfect way to start a day of wine tasting. This was beautiful and just fun. Hint of bubbles, lightly sweet, a touch of glycerin. Some musty citrus flavor. Enjoyable.

July 25, 2013 - From Haut-Lieu. Superb deep golden color with brown hues. Great nose with honey, apples, pear, mineral. Rich, some RS, a slight fizz, just enough so you can feel it. Very much alive and very cool to drink.

November 11, 2008 - Sharon Bowman returns to NY with an eclectic mix.: Talk about blasé, Joe opens this up to a small chorus of “the ’64 again?” Thanks to Joe I’ve had this wine eight or nine times with variable showings. Last year at the Huet Fete Part III, it showed very well. This bottle seemed a bit more advanced and tired. It was a deep gold color and while the bead was soft, it seemed fresher than others I’ve tried, but strangely, the flavors were more muted and dominated more by apples and desiccated stone fruits to go with its ubiquitous earthy mineral character. Fresher bottles show less apple, more vibrant apricot and usually a citrus and honeycomb note. Still, this certainly beats a sharp stick in the eye. B+.

November 9, 2007 - Huet fete part III: Schildknecht comes to town. (Dougherty's.): My seventh or eighth bottle of this and probably the best one I've had, though one tasted a few months ago also showed very well. There's been a lot of variation in the bottles I've had and Dougherty believes that it's probably a loose cork problem as the good bottles we've had have been so fresh that it's doubtful the wine is in decline. It's a deep yellow color and though it shows mature characteristics, there's still a certain freshness and vibrancy to the wine. It has a soft mousse, though this one is more vibrant than all others I've had, with desiccated stone fruits, walnuts, honey comb and faint citrus flavors. It's a bit fresher on the palate than the nose would suggest and it picks up a nice appley note on the finish. A-.

November 9, 2007 - Schildknizzle in the House (SFJoe's): Still has a decent mousse with fine pinpoint Badoit-like bubbles, even though it would have tasted just fine without them. Sunny yellow color with fruit like a custard cream filling.
