October 7, 2022 - NOSE: tart black fruit (black plum, blackberry) with some mature notes, leather, violets, hint caraway seed. PALATE:leads with surprisingly (for its 13 year age) tart plum and blackbery flavors, well-balanced on the mid-palate, tannins still providing good grip, closing the palate in a slightly grippy finish. OVERALL: Tanzer remarked this vintage was “tightly wound” on release. That has kept this high altitude blend of 31% Malbec / 27% Can Sauv, 20% Merlot + CF and PV together. However, I think the secondary elements might outrun the mellowing of acidity & tannins. Enjoy sooner vs later, contemplate what it gives today.
