Started out overly sweet, next glass was overly bitter, third glass mellowed out and profile is enjoyable now. Cinnamon, plum, some cream, but tannins and heat are a bit too much. Totally a fruit stew, which is not bad, but not my cup of tea. Seems awkward and disjointed. Like a dessert that is way too sweet which kills all the nuance of the natural fruit flavors. -

March 10, 2023 - 2023 Napa in the City: Gala Dinner (The Pool in NYC): Out of magnum. All blackberry and peppery and soft. Still incredibly young but a wine that clearly has a lot of potential. Again would love to see in 20 years.

February 19, 2023 - Decanted 2 hrs.
As per other member review, I can see the fruit stew mentioned, but, I find this wine rather enjoyable. Almost a blackberry and strawberry compote type profile. Marshmallow, blackberry, raspberry. Acid is medium plus. Weight is medium plus. Alcohol felt a bit high for my liking.
Bitter vegetal finish. It had its moments. Not amazing, but pretty good. -

March 29, 2020 - I'm not feeling it with this bottle......picked up at auction from winebid. Just a bunch of stewed fruit. In fact, it's not even stewed, it's nose is that spoiled, rotted fruit stink you get when you leave a piece of fruit sitting in the basket in the window in the kitchen for a week too long. The actual wine is drinking older than a 2010, maybe more like a 2000 if that helps you to get a feeling for it. On this bottle the cork was a bit crumbly which makes me think this bottle was not stored properly to begin with and that I was very lucky onthe first bottle. Such a difference from the last bottle in this lot. Another great winebid experience......not. Seems more and more they are offering a mixed bag of wines when you buy multiples...a mix of good and bad. Buyer beware.
Addendum: 3 more hours in and the spoiled fruit stench leaves, replaced by just old fruit. Prunes, plums, and so on......it's actually a few points better but still not something I would buy again. I originally gave this an 84.....now it may be an 89....I won't buy this again, even if it's at $50/bottle. -

February 9, 2020 - Dead bang on.......wonderful, aged, red fruit. Smooth, aged to perfection, I don't think it gets any better than it is right now. One more bottle to go....and I'll be having it soon as I don't think it benenfits from any more age than it as right now. It is perfectly integrated and benefits from 1-2 hours of air to gain a little weight. Drink up!
