February 29, 2024 - Deeply coloured, hint of brick, younger looking than 27.
Beautifully aged Barolo. Dark spice, tar, licorice, graphite, seamlessly integrated with deep ripe red, black and blue fruits. Violet florals, salty, pure long fruit flavours. Tannins are silky for a Barolo, and do not dominate impressions. Not really earthy or gamey, just fruit and spice. Complex, youthful, rich. Special.

September 19, 2022 - This was a wonderful surprise offering from a friend last night. We didn't have opportunity to decant or enjoy with well-paired food, so my rating might under-appreciate a great bottle in its best light. As it was, beautiful mushroomy flavors from first sip. Clearly in a prime drink window now.

July 2, 2021 - Fully mature. No need to wait further. An hour of slow ox then 1-2 hours in the decanter. Dried fruits, herbs and a touch of raisin on the finish. Medium bodied, and a medium long finish that is nicely balanced.

June 27, 2021 - liquored fruit nose, red berries, stewed fruits (showing its age a bit), some oak. still grippy tannin on the palate, decent balance. enjoyable
