March 18, 2021 - Pure garnet in the glass. Light cherries on the nose. Solid ted cherries on the palate with a slight spice on the finish. Crisp acidity with little tannin evident. Mouthfeel had a very light body.

December 31, 2014 - Unscrewed and poured. Color garnet with clear edges. Nose five spice and cherries. Swishing shows great acid structure, with very smooth spicy tannin. Sipping gives a blast of black cherries w slippery med weight mouthfeel leading into a lengthy soft finish. Really quite nice tonight. Just as good after a night in the fridge

June 14, 2014 - a bit edgy and sulfuric but this settled down after decanting. with food this showed bright cherry fruit and was soft. without food was spicy and high toned. good but not sure I am in at $33

2012 German Catalog, 6/1/2012 (link)(Gysler Spätburgunder) ($40.00) None of that feeble Marienfelder clone stuff; this is Geisenheim clone 2013 in fact, small-berries. And it’s excellent Pinot Noir by any standards, ripe (13% alc), 30% new Allier barriques with the rest used to various degrees; suave blackberry aromas, smoky, elegant silky palate with sweet top-notes, a tertiary mid-palate of black-trumpet mushrooms and a finale of wet forest floor. Adult, lovely murmury wine, with an effortless richness.
